Meditation
24x30 oil
This painting was done for my weekly challenge given by Karin Jurick (different stokes for different folks]. It was a great image to work from and enjoyed painting it. It was fun because my family is visiting for the holidays so while I was painting this I had my two nieces, nefew, sister in law and one of my sons all painting too. Happy Thanksgiving!

Boat at sunset and Low Tide
mixed media 11x14
This painting I feel is a metaphore for that peace we are always looking to attain. In most cases that kind of peace comes from painting, a day at the beach, a hike or long bike ride I can think of a few more but will stop their. I am doing a show this weekend in Wilmington. I love to go to Wilmington NC the people there are so nice! I can also get a nice waterside view for a peaceful meal the night before the show. When I get back I will have family visit for a week. It will be tough to do this week Different Stokes for Different Strokes challenge. I really like the subject so will do my best to get it done on time.

Lavender Fields
Mixed Media 11x14
This piece was inspired by a very vivid dream I had. I was riding my bike in the countryside, it was a beautiful day. I could smell the beautiful fragrance of the lavender fields in the air. I kept riding literally in a dream world when I came upon a man gardening at the edge of his property. I recognized him, he was Monet. He was very friendly we talked for a while. ( I'm not sure what language it was in.) It was so real! I almost feel it really happened.

Rainy Day In The City
oil 6x12
This is another painting done for the painting challenge from artist Karin Jurick's blog different strokes for different folks.
This challenge we were given an upside down photo to work with. We had to leave it that way while doing our painting. It forces you to see only shapes and composition and not worry about the subject. I had not done a painting this way but have done drawings like this. I often turn my paintings around { especially portraits } and look at them in the mirror. You can really spot things you want to change by looking at the painting this way. I like always love a challange so this was a lot of fun! Try it sometime.

Three Shadows
oil 5x7
This painting was done for the Different Strokes Challenge given by Karin Jurick. I find the challenge a lot of fun. I really enjoy seeing all the other artists interpretation of the same subject.

Bond Lake
oil 38x48 unfinished
This is a piece I am working on right now, I want to add a branch with a few leaves clinging and a reflection. We will see how that goes today. I tend to have several works going at the same time. Right now I have three in the works and I want to try something new today. I will post this again when I am finished. I have to go vote first.

Viewing VanGogh
4x4 oil on masonite
I just love to go to museums! I could spend whole days in them. When I first remember seeing an actual VanGogh I was in the Philadelphia museum of art. I was wowed! I was with a group so I had to move along. I just wanted to stay in that one spot for a while
You can bid on this painting in my e bay store!
